8th Mistletoe Symposium
The 8th Mistletoe Symposium took place in the
proven manner at the European Academy Otzenhausen
(EAO) from Thursday, November 9 to Saturday,
November 11, 2023, with all 54 planned contributions
without absences due to illness and in a harmonious and mutually
appreciative atmosphere. We on the organizing committee can only be
extremely grateful for this. Not only did all 100 participants
(from 8 countries) contribute to this, but also the conference
center itself with its staff, who provided us with excellent
support.
The online training took place on Friday,
November 10, 2023, from 5 p.m. to around 9.30 p.m. in
hybrid format via ZOOM. We had 35
participants. In our view, this is a success, as we had to mobilize
additional participants in addition to a three-digit number of
face-to-face participants given the current online oversupply.
Here, too, we had a lot of exclusively positive feedback. The
video recordings of this training course sre
available on the folder
Online-Further-Training of this website.
The abstracts of the contributions - lectures and
posters - have been published in advance in a special issue of the
Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine
(JICM) and will be freely available online for the next 3
years (until October 2026) (see on this homepage under 8th Mistletoe
Symposium/Abstracts).
A written report on the 8th Mistletoe Symposium
for the scientific community is in preparation.
The book with the detailed versions of the
symposium contributions will most likely be published by
KVC-Verlag at the turn of the year
2024/2025, i.e. about 1 year after the symposium
date, as with previous symposia.
The deadline for submitting book contributions is January
31, 2024.
The next, 9th Mistletoe Symposium will take place
2027, in 4 years in a very comparable way. It will
again be international, with simultaneous translation and - based
on our good experience and the positive response - again with
online training, which will be transmitted in hybrid format from
the conference center. Further details can be found on this website
under 9th Mistletoe Symposium.
